Blocked Service times VS A la carte Service times

When creating color services, you have the option to make it so appointments are booked as a solid time block or have processing time open on your schedule to prevent or allow double booking.

Booking Blocked Service times-

To create a service that will keep your schedule blocked off with one client from start to finish please create a new service with the Default Duration set to the amount of time you would need including the time to process. Leave Default Process Time set to “None”

Booking with Processing Time (a la carte)-

To allow open space on the schedule during the time in which a client would be processing, you will set the default duration to the amount of time you need for application and the default process time for how long the client will be processing.

 NOTE: The process time will only be accounted for if you book a finishing service for the client, in addition to the initial service.

Online Client Scheduling-

Clients will not see availability to double book an appointment if you are using blocked timings. If you have open processing time on your schedule, clients will be able to book appointments online in between if your settings and availability allow. It is important to remember that if you are doing a la cart services, you need to require a secondary service for online scheduling.

Navigate to Manage > Online Settings > Services

Requires a secondary service: this will not allow clients to book this appointment unless they schedule a second service

Is a secondary service: Any of these services will be listed as an option for a standalone service or as a follow up service to any requiring a secondary service

Above is an example of what clients would see on your OCS page. If you have clients who do not get a styling service after their color, you can create a service for "After Color wash- no style" to allow that option while still requiring the software to add in your processing time for those clients.
